Most water reminders beg. Waterie's buddy roasts. Pick the Roast voice and Plip or Plop will tease you about your drinking habits until you actually drink something. It's free, it speaks English and Thai, and it never swears.

Prefer a nicer buddy?
Switch to the Friendly voice any time in Settings → Your buddy, where you can preview both voices before you save. Both voices are free, for Plip and Plop, on iPhone and Android.

Yes. Both voices, Roast and Friendly, are free for both buddies. Premium adds features like unlimited AI drink scans and weather-based goals, not personalities.
Is Roast mean?
It's smug and sarcastic, but it follows rules: no swearing, no guilt over missed days, and no comments about your body or health. It also celebrates your wins. If it's still too much, switch to Friendly.
Does the Roast voice work in Thai?
Yes. Every Roast line is written in both English and Thai, and your buddy follows the app's language.
How do I turn Roast on or off?
Roast is selected by default during setup, right next to your buddy choice. Later, open Settings → Your buddy, preview both voices, pick one, and tap Save.
Does Waterie only track water?
No. Waterie counts coffee, tea, juice, milk, and dozens of other drinks, each weighted by how well it actually hydrates you, based on the Beverage Hydration Index.
